cant wait for friiiiiday!

Director David Fincher(Se7en, Fight Club) returns to form with ZODIAC opening this friday. His last blockbuster was the amazing PANIC ROOM in 2002 so lets all get pumped!!!!!

The 79th Annual Academy Awards.

Good show...good show overall. A little dissapointed with the wins but I can't complain. Ellen was hit and miss at first with her hosting skills but pulled herself together by the end of the show. I certainly loved the skit/song with Will Ferell, Jack Black and John C. Rielly. ALSO the cutest bit hands down had to be Emily Blunt and Anne Hathway presenting best costume design and slowly slipping back into their memorable characters as they feared the devil herself, Meryl Streepy, from the first row. Pan's Labyrinth not winning for best foreign film was quite the travesty. Also, Alan Arkin winning for LMS just made no sense to me. And though as you all know I've been rooting for Babel, I was happy to see Marin Scorcese win his directing award and best picture for The Departed. Oh and Reese Witherspoon lookin SMOKINN

Bridge to Terabithia

(8.5/10)

I've been a fan of both the lead kid actors in this movie since their respectable earlier debuts. Josh Hutcherson made a name for himself with the rarely seen but notably memorable LITTLE MANHATTAN and AnnaSophia Robb was unforgettable as the vicious Violet in CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY. Now though at first I found it hard to believe that the two best looking kids in the school happend to be the "losers" I soon got over that. Bridge to Terabithia is a magical story of imagination about two outcasts who find themselves in a safe haven of escape that they may have a hard time ever getting out of. The filmmakers do a good job of leaving the audience somewhat confused as to what is real and what is fantasy at first. I can't go into much else of the story without revealing a tragic turn that the film takes near the end. But its a turn that makes it shine even more so. My friend and I didn't know what to expect going in and we ended up crying our eyes out. (Which is a rarity for me. I mean RARE!) This is a film for the ages, but again be forewarned, it's not all that easy to swallow.

for your weekend..

the astronaut farmer and amazing grace got decent reviews but unless the stories appeal to you they'll probably be a yawn fest.

the number 23 got AWFUL reviews but I mean..who didn't see that coming?

Reno 911---seems to have people going either way, I've always enjoyed the show so I'm still pulling for it and will try to get around to seeing it this weekend. Otherwise, sorry for not having many reviews up lately- been busy!!

Britney is back in rehab though, for good this time lets hope, AMEN!

the prestige and babel on dvd tommorow!

with the oscars coming up on sunday night- be sure to check out BABEL so you'll know all about the winner. haha...and the prestige is nominated in some of the more minor technical catergories- i have yet to see it but i will try to soon.

Wigga what?

:(?!

WICKED

Seriously guys, this show cannot be missed. Powerful, hilarious and amazing. The most clever story around and really catchy songs. Almost upstaging the entire show- the closing song of ACT 1 - "Defying Gravity" is an unforgettable show stopper that left the audience stunned as the stage cut to black for intermission. I hope everyone gets to experience this one day because its well worth it. The message behind this is one for all ages that relates to anyone that knows what its like to be an outcast or have a friend choosing the wrong path in life...we know the fate of the wicked witch of the west--but do we know her past and was she really all that bad in the first place? Those elements make this story all the more tragic and hard-hitting. There's still lots of light hearted stuff but this one is a tear-jerker!

music and lyrics

(5/10)

I'm going to be completely honest.... I tried and tried to like this movie and even with the two loveable leads there was just nothing going on. Hugh Grant plays a failed pop star who is trying to jump start his career by writing a new song for the worlds hottest pop sensation ( Think Britney, Grant has been quoted as saying she was his inspiration ) and by chance one day his plant gardner waterer lady (Drew Barrymore) happens to inspire his lyric skills and he decides to use her to help him write the song. Lots of fluff ensues but while you're thinking this plot is somewhat original...it is....but nothing that makes it stand out or keep excitement. I was bored to the max. Also, this is NOT a chick flick but that doesn't make it anymore watchable. I would not even recommend this as a rental. Strictly for Hugh fans.

happy valentines day to everyone

im snowed in and off school but ugh...hope its a good one for all! while ur at it-- check out the cover of the new ok! magazine..ahh if u only it were true. haha.

marie antoinette

im not goona review this movie as i don't really know what i think of it. its gorgeous gorgeous costumes and scenery reallly but i dunno....i dunno?!?!

a must see....

very well done...a sad video displaying how lost britneys been over the past couple months.

Half Nelson

(7.5/10)

I had wanted to see this movie far before Ryan Gosling's oscar nomination but what I didn't know was that this movie had very little to do with teaching inner-city kids. Kids that were far more together than their druggy teacher (Gosling). This is a poetic journey between two unlikely characters. Drey (Amazingly played by new comer Shareeka Epps) mistakenly stumbles upon her history teacher one day in the locker room and see's him smoking crack. For the rest of the movie Dan is trying to sway thirteen year old Drey from involving herself with drug dealing. But the questions the movie poses are- how are these two going to come out of this? Is Drey a higher person because shes just dealing and not doing it? Is Dan hypocritcal for being hooked yet trying to get her off the streets? The resolution is not straight forward by any means...but if you look closely.. enough clues are there to see what could be the ending we all would hope and want for these two. A definite slow burn ...but worth watching if only for some great performances and yes another movie about what drug abuse can do.

britneys crazy.

its official. i dont agree with whats going on but i dont KNOW whats going on...all this "britney is the next anna nicole thing" is just kinda scary. still rooting for ya. here she is being insane/sexy? at the club on saturday and on the right ull see her getting ready to take off from NYC back to LA with the boys. still keeping jayden hidden....

interesting ....

remember felicia? britneys older assistant who was by her through and through that just dissapeared during the K-Fed years...well here she finally breaks her silence about britney. to be honest...felicia seems like she prob hasnt seen or spoke to brit in a long time.

Felicia Culotta, Britney’s former assistant, and good friend of mine, wrote me an E-mail in response to our editorial “Why Britney Is Asking For It…“

Ruben,
Once again–I commend you for your Honesty and Integrity. I have been reading your new website daily and am grateful to have that to go to, to check on the antics of Britney. Britney doesn’t have a Publicist for me to clear this thru first, so it will come directly from my heart to you!

I am writing in response to “Where is Felicia?” on your editorial.I am home–in Mississippi…….I am now a trained Corporate Flight Attendant and fly with a tiny jet company out of Georgia. I am also a substitute Preschool Teacher at the Church Preschool in my town. I LOVED being with Britney for the past 9 1/2 years. I enjoyed being a part of HER dream, but now, am living my own dream.

I cherish ALL the incredible opportunities that came my way thru my job with Britney and am crushed/saddened/heart sick by the way her life is unfolding…….

I want you to know Ruben that WE (as in her Family and nearest and dearest—ALL of whom are NOT on the payroll anymore!!) are doing EVERYTHING in our power to get help for Britney and all in our power to NOT pad the bottom or move the bottom, so when she does indeed hit rock bottom, she’ll stand up and walk away from this whole fiasco a new, confident, changed, career driven Britney like we all knew and loved.

There’s just so much you can do to help a person—I don’t dare want to be an enabler, and I cannot love her enough for the both of us. I cannot convince her in ANY way to love herself. All I can do is be a friend, someone that loved her for MANY years unconditionally, and PRAY. That, I have decided is the most and best I can do for my friend. I cannot save her from herself, nor can I commit her to any type of treatment program against her wishes and will. I am throwing my hands up and realizing that I am helpless over another—ANYONE!

It’s been a hard reality for me to face. I have lived my best example daily, and that is ALL I’m capable of. To see what’s transpiring now, makes me feel a failure, defeated. I LOVED and BELIEVED in what I was a part of for the past 10 years and was so incredibly proud of Britney and all she’d become.

All that to say this Ruben–I’m so Southern, and the BEST way for me to tell you how I feel is to say—You can just kick an old Dog so many times before he gets off the porch. I, FELICIA, am OFF the porch!!

Thank you for ALL you’ve done–ALL the love and support over the years. ALL the non-judgement and ALL the Honesty!

PLEASE let me know if there’s ANYTHING I can do to repay your kindness. With as much sincerity as I can Muster,

FE

goodnight.

just cuz i can...

desperate housewives

ok this show has finally driven me bonkers. tonights episode was kinda of whatever and i was like blah but then the final 2 minutes drove me over the edge. i cant believe mike didnt kill monique and he threw orson off the roof and then it said to be continued!!!???? is he dead? and who is dying next week? too much for me to handle. amazing writing..bye

grammys.....boring

except for a powerful performance by ludacris and mary j. the grammmys were rather blah. it was cool to see the police back together and that chris brown can dance. but christina just screamed a mess, beyonce sounded bad...i dunno. and justins two performances were overkill. so overall...the show was like a good cast but a bad movie.

Anna Nicole Smith

What a bazaar and fascinating story this is. Who else has been this famous by just doing the craziest things and climbing that social ladder and inheriting some major cash along the way. Who knows when we'll find out the truth behind this madness/controversy/conspiracy WHATEVER you call it....but regardless- R.I.P 1967-2007

britney...where are you?

I don't think she'll be attending the Grammys. Hang in there pal, I know times are rough. But the DJ's have been praising her new songs saying that their goona blow up the clubs! Woo hoo!

In other cool Britney stuff:
Maxim has a list of hot Milfs. Britney was on the list and here is what they said!:
Britney Spears
Sure, she may have gotten more down-home since hooking up with K-Fed, locked those low-rise leather pants in a closet and eschewed belly-baring tops for maternity wear (well, mostly). Try and deny it all you want, she's still hot—and you know those abs will be back with a vengeance soon.

justin and kevin together.....WHAT THE?

how awkard? the two exchanged an uncomfortable hug the other day.

gwen tickets

gwen stefani with Akon and (ick!-- Lady Sovreiegn) tickets went on sale saturday. my seats are not as good as last time (uhh..first row!) but since i wasnt able to buy tickets being in the middle of a mountain i had to cope. but yeah...should be a fun outdoor summer-kickoff event. purchase at www.ticketmaster.com

RIP K-Fed?

Well someone finally did it.....

a terrifying flight

(8/10)

I finally rented United 93. I had been kinda scared to watch it..to be honest, I have never been 100% sure how I felt about the movies being made surrounding 9/11. But this one works. I have not seen World Trade Center but I hear its very cheesy and unnecessary. But Paul Greengrass (Now oscar nominated for his work here) directs this movie with the gritty realism needed to make it work on all levels. Bouncing back and forth between flight 93 itself and the different air traffic control locations. We are given a first hand account of the unexpected chaos and how it unravels. Played out almost as a greek tragedy...we know our characters are doomed yet in a way we almost refuse to believe it. We watch them fight for their lives and their country and we cannot forget what happend that day. I tried to leave my complaints to the side because by the end I understood how important this film was. Whether or not this is your cup of tea, it should be required viewing for all.

um...on dvd tommorow

UPDATED******* ITS REALLY GOOD!!!

I know I'm not the only one who is intrigued...has anyone seen the preview for this movie Cinderella 3: A twist in time? I am a true hater of str8 to video disney sequels and frankly I've refused to watch ANY...(Alright, we dont hate on on might ducks sequels aiiight?) but anyway...the plot is whack! Apparently the evil stepmom finds the magic wand and revereses everythings and Cinderella is poor again and ain't nobody like her! Haha DATS MESSED UP! anyway...I'll let you know if I watch it.

Also on DVD tommorow: Flags of our Fathers, Running with Scissors, The Science of sleep

oh and in the music world- FALL OUT BOYS NEW CD!! WOOO

this is a hilarious must see!

amy poehler is too funny playing dakota fanning! and drew barrymore playing abigail breslin from little miss sunshine.....ahh the rivalry.

something we dont talk about....

I'm pretty upset that I can't attend the Killers concert around here on April 26th but...that doesn't mean it should stop any of u! Head over to ticketmaster and buy your tickets. I'm crossing my fingers that thier coming around here my way when they announce the second leg of their tour! Their new single is READ MY MIND and its a great track.

hannibal rising

This opens friday along with Norbit (which I think is goona stop Eddie Murphy from winning the oscar, I kid you not...just embarassing..maybe its good?) Hannibal Rising is I guess a prequel to the prequel which was Red Dragon which was better than Hannibal the sequel but they both had no Jodie and this one doesn't either so it won't be good. Bye.

im bringin sexy backs

I went and saw the P!nk and Justin Timberlake concert on friday night. Overall it was worth the $100, JT puts on a real good show....though sometimes he is annoying I still really liked it. The highlights of the show were certainly what goes around, sexy back and Timbalands suprise intermission performance! The new song with him, JT and Nelly Furtado is off the chain! There was tons of energy. But Pink was awesome to and worked the crowd well, almost upstageing Jt. I was just thinking about B girl the whole time haha but yeah if you get a chance to go see this show, don't miss it.
