I finally saw Letters From Iwo Jima today. I loved it. Clint Eastwood manages to let you see WWII from a completely different angle and almost makes you forget what side you're supposed to be on...because in fact, who needs to be on any side? War is pointless, we are all so similar we can't see straight. This movie is a brilliant, moving epic of the most sincere and fatal war times. If you like a superb war movie that is somewhat light on action and more heavy on emotion and masterful cinematography, check this out. You will be riveted, and dont mind the subtitles.
This now means I've seen all the nominated films for best picture oscar! :)
